See, that’s what the app is perfect for.

Sounds perfect Wahhhh, I don’t wanna

theydraggedmein asked:

So, I was going over the schedule (again) and I kinda realized I'm not entirely comfortable submitting to a rating by Feb 21, so: Is it allowed/possible to maybe list a high rating that later might get down graded (or the other way 'round) or is it a done deal by that time?

Sorry we haven’t had much time to get to this. Thank you for the question, if you think that your fic would need a higher (or lower) rating when you submit your summary just add the current rating and add that it will possibly be higher or lower like this:

Rating: Teen (possibly Mature or Explicit)

or

Rating: Mature (possibly Teen or General)

That way the artist will know what is possible before choosing. It is best to let the artists know before they choose that way you don’t surprise them with a rating that they are not comfortable creating art for.

I hope that this answered your question, if not, let us know! Remember, communication is key!

theydraggedmein asked:

I think I need to ask yet another less than bright question: What does the "Author's first check in" Feb 10-14 entail? And how does it differ from the deadline on Feb 21?

First, apologies for the late response, we’ve been rather busy. We do try to answer these in a timely manner but it may not always end up that way when life happens.

Next, there is no such thing as a “less than bright” question! Every question is important and this is a good one.

The first check in for authors is simply to let us know where you are at (if you’ve even started, have an outline, already done, have a rough draft and waiting for a beta, etc.) and let us know if you have any questions or concerns. We do this a week before the draft submission as a way to see if there is anyone that intends to drop before draft and summary submissions and before art claims and we use this check in as a reminder as well. We know that some people get busy with life or forget things, or whatever else that may keep them from writing, so we like to give a reminder in a way of checking in to see where every one stands.

The Feb 21st deadline is draft and summary submissions. This is the time that you will be submitting a copy of what you’ve got so far with an outline for the rest, along with as detailed a summary as possible, major tags (if it is explicit please be sure to tag top/bottom), ratings, archive warnings, and characters and side pairings that appear. We ask for as detailed a summary as possible because this is the summary that will be posted for artist claims and we want the artist to be well informed before making selections, no one likes surprises in the form of unexpected squicks.

The 21st will also be your first opportunity to upgrade or downgrade your fic. If you signed up for a mini bang and found out that you’re actually going to be doing a Big Bang, now is the time to let us know, same if you signed for a mega bang and found out it will not quite meet those word count requirements, just tell us you need to downgrade.

We hope that this answered your questions. If you have any others please do not hesitate to contact us, remember, communication is key!

theydraggedmein asked:

So, I was going over the rules again and noticed the first author chek-in is feb 10th and I was wondering: Do we need a beta at that point? and on the subject of betas, I would like one if you got one hidden somewhere :)

Excellent question. The time in which you get a beta is truly up to you. Just keep in mind that everyone works at a different pace so be sure they have plenty of time to look over your entire fic and you have time to implement changes you want from their suggestions. Having a beta by check in time, although recommended, is not mandatory.

We just sent out an e-mail to all authors with a list of the betas that signed up. Feel free to take a look and contact one that would be compatible to your story.

All authors: If you did not receive the e-mail that went out today with the beta list please let us know.

If you have any further questions please contact us. Remember, communication is key.

theydraggedmein asked:

I'm gonna ask you a question that stems from the fact that I've never participated in a Bang before, and English isn't my first language: Is it the artist that choose a fic to 'art' (I'd have written 'draw', but then I realized art wasn't limited to that, it's not meant as disrespectful towards the artists) for or is it the author who choose an artist?

Your first bang! Congratulations. We are honored that your first one is with us and the Dean/Cas/Jimmy ship.

As far as the artist claims go. The authors will submit there info to us on February 21, 2017 (does not have to be a complete draft for more info please see the schedule), and once we have received them all we will make a post that is available to the artists.
They have a day to look them over and decided which story they would like to create art for. The next day the artists are the ones who submit a form to us to let us know their top five choices. Once fics have been claimed we will inform the author and artist who they are paired with and they can contact one another and go from there!

We have the artist pic the story (without knowing the author) so that they will be able to pick a story that won’t have any squicks or triggers for them. That is the reason that we ask the authors to provide as much information as possible when submitting summaries for artist claims.

We hope that this answers your question. If you need any further clarification don’t hesitate to ask! Communication is key!

theydraggedmein replied to your post “Right, stupid question time: Are you guys going to set up those who…”
It answers the question as far as betas go, but how about the artist-part!?

Apologies, @theydraggedmein, when we posted this we missed the artist part and focused solely on the beta.

All authors will submit summaries which must include: rating, all archive warnings, major tags, and a description of the work. Any explicit/major side pairings should also be listed.
After all authors submit we will post the summaries for artists to view. We do this without revealing the author so it gives everyone a chance to possibly work with someone they don’t know.
The next day artist claims open. The artists will fill out and submit a form with their first five choices of fics they’d like to create art for. It is first come first serve, so the sooner you submit your choices, the better chance you have of getting your first choice.
As the claims come in we will update which ones have been claimed and send out emails to the artists and authors to inform them who they will be working with. Art claims will stay open until all fics are claimed. Some artists have expressed interest in possibly doing more than one fic, that is fine, as long as the deadlines are still able to be met
It is up to the author and artist at this point to open a line of communication for creating as they move forward. Remember, as with any relationship, the one between author and artist/beta included, communication is key

We hope that this answers the rest of your question. If you need further clarification please let us know, we love to hear from you and want to do our best to make this fun, we can only do that if we make sure that all questions are answered.

Remember: communication is key!

theydraggedmein asked:

Right, stupid question time: Are you guys going to set up those who sign up as authors with betas/artist?

No stupid questions! Promise.

As far as betas go the authors are free to find a beta for their work however they wish. We won’t assign betas to authors.
If they need help finding a beta they will have access to the list with all the beta’s that have signed up and they can contact them directly and work it out with them.
We do this so that authors and betas will be better matched. Even if given a summary of their fic with tags, the author is the only one that truly knows what is going on in the story, we don’t want to assign betas only to find out that the author put in a squick or trigger the beta may have forgot to mention.
By taking it into their own hands the authors and betas have a better chance of finding a more suitable match for their story and we avoid the possibility of a beta regretting signing up or even dropping out.
We truly do not want that to happen because we want this to be fun and enjoyable for every participant involved.

We hope tat this answers your question. If not please let us know and we will be happy to clarify further.
