So I submitted my summary and draft prior to your post today because I got a little excited... am I able to revise my summary? I realize I may not have a done that great a job on it because I was semi panicking over writing one at all... I don't want to lead any potential artists astray, you see.
If you want to submit a more detailed summary for claims go for it! Just be sure to do it by the submission deadline and please do so by responding to the confirmation email you received to keep it with the rest of the info.
If you have any other questions let us know, remember, communication is key!
how do we know if we are 1 of the 4 authors. i filled out my check in but never got confirmation that it was received
We have received your check in, @mrsgabrieltrickster if you did not get an email confirmation that you checked in that was because we have not sent them out.
The only e-mails that we sent out after check in were to the ones who we did not submit a check in with us. We will be sending out draft submission confirmations as we receive them. So keep a look out for that once you submit your draft!
We hope that this answered your question, if not please do not hesitate to submit an ask or an email. Remember communication is key!
So you do need a copy of everything we’ve written so far?
Yes, @theydragged me in. A link to the google docs, or an attachment to the draft. You have already submitted everything but the draft, so if you will just send another email with the draft and that would be fine.
If you have any other questions, let us know. Remember, communication is key!

How do you post a link to gmail? Do we use your email or is there a way to make the document public? I'm sorry I'm new at this.
We did forget to post our e-mail in the submissions post and we will go back and fix that.
If you have your fic written up in a document program that is not google docs, just attach the file to the email.
If you have your fic in google docs you can either download it and attach the file or there is a button in the top right hand corner that says “Share” it looks like this:
Click on that and you will get a window that looks like this:
The words highlighted in the green is where you want to click to get a link that you can copy and paste into the email that you submit to us. When you do this you have options be sure to pick the view option to send us:
We hope that this has been helpful.
Once you do all of that you can send over all the info to us at dcjbigbang at gmail.
If we did not answer your question fully please feel free to send another ask, or shoot us an email. There are no stupid questions here and most importantly communication is key!
I already sent the mail but it’s not exactly like that even though all infos are there, do I have to do it again or is it fine as is?
If you submitted your draft and it isn’t in the exact order listed on the post, do not worry, as long as the information is there we do not need you to submit it again.
Hey, I have a question about the summaries/art claim bits. Do artists claim on the basis of a summary, and do I need to include what's going to happen in the story in the summary? My summary right now is kind of baiting readers without telling where it's going, but I can make a more elaborate one if necessary?
For this question we highly suggest that you read this post on info for a summary that is being presented to artists.
What you are submitting to us is not for readers. What you are submitting to us is a summary that will entice the artist to want to pick your fic over everyone else’s. As it says in the post linked, you should include as much information as is relevant, as well as visually enticing elements that will draw the artist to your fic.
A more elaborate summary is a good idea if only to let the artist know what they have available in the fic. You may have something that the artist isn’t comfortable creating for, on the other hand you may have something that an artist is dying to create for and you just happen to have it in your fic.
The more detailed the better. Read that post and if you still have questions, let us know! Remember that communication is key!
So for the rough draft submission, I know having the whole thing entirely written would be ideal, but if it's not quite there, would "mostly done, with outlines/detailed plans for what's not" be okay? (Uh, asking for a friend who got sick and lost writing time... 🤒)
Thanks for the ask. You can let your “friend” know that it is okay if it isn’t finished by summary submission. We just need a detailed summary submission for the art claims and what ever you have written along with the rest of the outline. No need to stress. What is most important for draft and summary submission is the summary.
The summary and rating info along with tags and relationships will be posted for artists to see to make choices for the fic they wish to do art for.
We hope that this answered your questions. If not feel free to submit another ask or email us! Remember communication is key!
So, I was going over the schedule (again) and I kinda realized I'm not entirely comfortable submitting to a rating by Feb 21, so: Is it allowed/possible to maybe list a high rating that later might get down graded (or the other way 'round) or is it a done deal by that time?
Sorry we haven’t had much time to get to this. Thank you for the question, if you think that your fic would need a higher (or lower) rating when you submit your summary just add the current rating and add that it will possibly be higher or lower like this:
Rating: Teen (possibly Mature or Explicit)
or
Rating: Mature (possibly Teen or General)
That way the artist will know what is possible before choosing. It is best to let the artists know before they choose that way you don’t surprise them with a rating that they are not comfortable creating art for.
I hope that this answered your question, if not, let us know! Remember, communication is key!
