Unfortunately we have had a couple authors drop this month due to one reason or another. We also had another that had to postpone their posting date.
So keep an eye out for the next fic that will post this week.
As for the other two, we have informed the authors that once they are able to post we will be happy to promote their fics and the artists art. When this may be we are not sure, but we will absolutely be making a post for them here as their reasons for dropping are beyond their control, it is the least that we can do for them.
So while we only have one more posting this month we may possibly have two more if the situation allows for the other authors to post.

Summary:
In a world where magic and witchcraft are real and accepted, Dean Winchester is the first-born son to the two most powerful Witch families. It had always been assumed he would be very powerful. Unfortunately, all witches need a familiar (an animal shifter,) to help them channel their excess magic, to avoid causing harm to themselves or the surrounding area when using their magic.
Dean has gone twenty-eight years without finding his familiar. He has watched both his brothers find, and fall in love with theirs. That is until a car is dropped off at the garage where he works and he feels the call, the connection to his familiar.
He assumes the man, Castiel, is his familiar. When they meet, his familiar in cat form, Dean is shocked to find that the connection isn’t as strong as it had been when he had first felt it in the car. The next night, a different cat comes to him, but still, the connection isn’t exactly as it was in the garage. Even though it is unheard of, Dean assumes Cas can just change into two different cats. It doesn’t take long for Dean to discover the truth—
Can he get his family to accept and believe that this isn’t a scam? Can the family come together before danger strikes? Can they beat the Grand Coven?

“You’re disgusting, Bradbury. I’m ashamed to call you my friend.”
“Best friend,” she corrected him, before passing him a set of car keys. “Now go fix the pimpmobile and leave me to enjoy my drink in peace.” She laughed as she tossed her long red hair back behind her slim shoulder, her fingers already gliding over the keys of the computer.
“Alright I see how it is, using a man for his hot chocolate connections, how dare you.” Dean turned away laughing, and headed for the break room to put down the tray and get his jumpsuit on. Soon as the suit was on he walked out to his area, zipping up the front as he saw the car waiting for him. He winced looking at what Charlie had correctly nicknamed the pimpmobile. It was a gold-colored 1978 Lincoln Continental Mark V and, without even reaching it, he was already loath to be working on it. Who would drive such an embarrassment? He picked up the clipboard with the information on it and skimmed down to to see the car had been modified.
“Aw, come on. Hydraulics on a Lincoln? Why? Has to be a pimp, who the hell else would want to ride in this?” He whined and glared at the car. “It’s not your fault, I know, your owner is just a terrible person or is completely clueless about cars or both. Don’t worry, girl, I’ll fix whatever the mean ol’ pimp did to you.” He opened the door and sat behind the wheel. His body froze before even putting the key to the ignition.
The magic inside him that had been latent with disuse came to life, sparks flaring in his veins as he could almost feel cool, fresh rainwater on his skin. It was like a roaring Christmas fire had been lit inside of him, eggnog and caroling and warmth of family and hearth while outside he was in the fresh open plains of a field in the early spring during a shower, barefoot in the grass. His breathing stuttered as he lost himself to the magic, the feeling of rightness inside of him. Two completely different feelings inside his body and on his skin yet it worked well together, making him feel whole and alive and loved and powerful. It was everything he had ever wanted but never knew to ask for.
“Dean? Dean, you okay?” Charlie practically yanked him out of the car and looked him over, her eyes wide with fright and her skin paler than normal.
“What? What happened?” Dean looked around disoriented at the empty garage. “Where did everyone go?”
“Everyone else went to lunch. I found you sitting in the car with your head back and you were just….crying. Dean… how long have you been sitting there?”
Reaching up to his face, Dean touched the pads of his fingers to the wetness there.
Due to and unfortunate situation we have had to have an author drop out at last minute. While I’m not at liberty to discuss the details please feel free to check out the author’s work at the link below and show them some love on the day they were supposed to post. Be sure to visit the artist’s page as well and show them the love their amazing art deserves as well.
We had to do some shuffling around with some of the posting dates because of various reasons. Not a whole lot has changed.
Check out the authors and artists and click on the posting dates to see the promo.
Be sure to let the authors and artists know that you are excited for their fic and art!!

Summary: The death of Jimmy and Castiel Shurley’s parents grants them a modest inheritance and, more importantly, freedom to make their own choices. After hunting for the perfect house, they find what they’re looking for in an old farmhouse in the mountains of upstate New York: nice neighbors not too close, the beauty of nature surrounding them, and solitude, save for each other. The isolation is both a blessing and a curse; Castiel has pined for his brother since puberty, but incest is forbidden and homosexuality is taboo, and he knows if he speaks about his feelings he’ll lose his brother as a best friend and destroy their careers as children’s book authors as well. Fortunately, Castiel finds a new friend in Dean, the strange man who hangs around their property. Sure, it’s a weird, especially since Dean refuses to enter the house or even meet Jimmy, but Dean is gregarious, beautiful, kind, and brilliantly knowledgeable about the natural wonders surrounding them. Castiel isn’t the best at assessing people but he’s absolutely sure there’s no harm in Dean…

“Willows are junk trees,” the inspector explained. “Their root systems are shallow and spread wide. They grow damn fast, too. One this old? There are roots all over your yard. It’s only a matter of time before they get into your well water – if they haven’t already – and they can even burst a septic tank depending on how they grow. They’re short lived, too. You’re thinking that ‘cause this one is so big, it must be old, but I’d be surprised if it’s stood here more than 20 years. As if that weren’t enough, the branches are weak. In a bad storm, if you’re lucky you’ll only lose some of them; if you’re unlucky the whole thing will go down right into your pond. Then you’ll have a right mess. I’m sure that’s why this other one was cut down,” she added, gesturing at the stump that Castiel had noted previously.
The corpse of the tree that once stood side by side with the existing willow was nearly as large around as the bole of the remaining tree. Thick moss, dark green, each sprig resembling a tiny tree, spread over the old, dead bark, covered the exposed roots, and forced its way through the lichen growing on the wood. What Castiel had thought from a distance was some kind of decoration proved to be, on closer inspection, a shrine. A sculpture of an angel carved from a pale wood rested on the stump, so intricate that every feather was articulated and Castiel thought he’d recognize the face if it was someone he knew. A plaid scarf was wrapped around the angel’s neck and a small hat was tugged over its head. Sunlight struck the finish and it gleamed, the wood polished to a lustrous shine. Something metal twinkled, a pendant, Castiel realized, shaped like a horned face. Other items, clearly deliberately selected though Castiel didn’t see a pattern to them, were arranged neatly about the base of the sculpture, nestled in the moss: an antler, a blue feather, a small carven box, a wind-scoured bone, and more.
“She’s wrong, you know,” said a gruff, unfamiliar voice. Startled, Castiel jerked around. There was a man standing beneath the boughs of the willow tree, tall, a smattering of freckles scattered over his tanned cheeks. His hair was the same shade of brown as the angel sculpture, and the gel that swept it back from his forehead gave it a similar burnished gleam.
His eyes were green.
Castiel wasn’t one for eye contact. Jimmy’s eyes were blue, brilliantly blue, but Castiel couldn’t think of another person he’d ever met whose eye color he’d taken note of.

Jimmy Novak had nearly everything he’d ever wanted; a decent job, a beautiful daughter, and a boyfriend he adored. But his father’s sudden death threatens to destroy the things he holds most dear when he’s forced to come face-to-face with his past and the one person he never wanted to have to face again: his brother.
Castiel Novak had been managing life just fine. It hadn’t been going the way he’d expected, but still, things were fine. That was of course until his father died and he was back in the same room as his twin brother, Jimmy, and all that managing was a little harder to do. Between his brother, his memories, and his brother’s gorgeous new boyfriend, Castiel was fairly certain it’s only a matter of time before something snaps.
Dean Winchester thought he’d had things relatively figured out. He was in love and more than ready to take the next step with his boyfriend, until he found out about that twin brother his boyfriend had never mentioned. There’s some kind of damage between the two of them, shaking Jimmy up and messing with his head. Dean is determined to find out what and hopefully fix it. Now all he has to do is figure it out and not fall for Cas or lose Jimmy in the process.
Teaser:
“No, seriously,” Dean said, “this woman straight up watches me plant one on him and then proceeds to laugh about how she wishes more men were as open with their affection for their friends as we were.”
Castiel snorted.
“I suggested that we – ow!” Dean jumped, glaring at Jimmy across the table.
“Little ears,” Jimmy said, tipping his head towards Claire, who was pushing her rice into a single pile.
“Oh, right.”
Claire giggled, squirming in her seat. She seemed content to just sit there and play with her rice, popping a piece of chicken into her mouth every once in a while.
“So, you got a boyfriend, Cas?” Dean asked.
“No.”
“Don’t get out much?” Dean asked.
Castiel shrugged. “More than I used to, I suppose. I just haven’t had an interest in long-term dating, not since college.” That was probably the wrong thing to say, but it just kind of slipped out.
Jimmy squirmed in his seat, clearing his throat and pointedly ignoring Castiel’s gaze.
“Why not? Can’t imagine you haven’t gotten any offers.” Dean said.
“There have been offers. I just haven’t been interested.”

Summary: It only affects maybe twenty percent of the population, but when you first kiss your soulmate, sparks fly. Not literally, but the feeling is real enough for those who experience it. There are two catches: it only works after you turn sixteen and it has to be a kiss on the lips.
Teaser:
Dean’s had his fair share of disappointment in his life. The whole soulmate thing has really screwed him over. Every time he thinks he’s found someone, there’s the inescapable proof that they’re not the one. If the one even exists out there for him. Things get a whole lot more complicated when he meets twins Castiel and Jimmy, and finds himself attracted to both of them…
Teaser: Jimmy’s barely gone when Castiel reappears. “Jimmy behaving himself?”
“Yeah.” Now that Dean’s gotten used to Jimmy’s voice, hearing Cas’ deep timbre throws him off for a split second. “Tells me you two plan on going into business together. How come you didn’t tell me that?”
Castiel shrugs. “I mentioned wanting to start a business, I’m sure. I suppose I forgot to mention the specifics of it. Besides, Jimmy has more fun telling people about it. It’s his baby, I’m just there to support him.”
“I thought you’d be doing the flowers.”
This makes Castiel’s eyes go wide and his ears go red. Did he manage to actually embarrass Castiel? Unflappable, always composed Cas? Dean wants to interrogate him more on the flower thing, but Cas cuts him off by pointing toward the bar.
“I know he probably showed you some examples, but he only shows off the obvious things like Valentine’s Day and Birthdays. You should ask him about his ‘unique occasion’ cards.”
“Okay, I’ll bite. What the hell are ‘unique occasions’?”
Jimmy steps up to the table with a manic smile on his face. “Did someone say ‘unique occasions’?” He hands off his beer and shakes out his arms a little and turns around. When he turns back, Jimmy starts talking in this cheesy, showman voice. “Tired of not having a card to mark the important—and not so important—occasions in your life? Birthday cards are a dime a dozen, but where are you going to turn to when you need something more specific? The answer is simple: Greetings and Carnations, a store designed just for your apology, celebratory, and other gift-related needs. Any time a situation arises that calls for something more than a text message, don’t worry, we’ve got a card for that.”
“Is he for real about that?” Dean asks Cas.
Cas is deadly seriously as he answers, “Yes. Tell him, Jimmy.”
Jimmy’s smile is so bright, so big and open, that it shouldn’t fit on a face that looks like Cas’. But somehow, it does. “Accidentally forget to take out the trash like your spouse asked? We’ve got a card for that. Get caught by your boss at an amusement park on a sick day? We’ve got a card for that. Lose your neighbor’s pet while they were on vacation? We’ve got a card for that. Your boyfriend run out on you because he met his soulmate and you want to tell him to suck it? Hell, we’ve got a card for that too!”
Any enjoyment Dean had in the situation dissolves right then and there. His face freezes in this mix between amusement and pain.
The twins share an alarmed look before Jimmy blurts out, “Oh fuck, did that happen to you?”

Pairings: James Novak/Amelia Novak, Dean Winchester/Castiel, Jimmy Novak/Dean Winchester/Castiel
Summary: James Novak met the love of his life when he was ten, by the time he was barely thirty his life revolves around finding the next thing to help him forget that she and their daughter are dead. Then one day he breaks his usual pattern and enter one green eyed man singing in a bar bringing him home.
It’s a story about all consuming loss but far more important is it a story about new beginnings and hope.
Teaser:
It’s another half hour of songs he mostly doesn’t know but which seem even more
hauntingly beautiful for it, before the green eyed man puts down his guitar to the sparse but genuine applause of the patrons; Jimmy has a hand wrapped around his still almost full beer bottle and eyes half closed in concentration trying to hear every word from the stranger’s mouth. It’s only the strong arm wrapping itself around his shoulder that keeps him from falling to the floor as warm, soft lips press against his cheek and a smiling voice whispers,
“I’m so happy to see you.”
Another bottle’s placed in front of them and the arm’s pulling Jimmy closer to the stranger, insistently yanking until he gets the hint and gracelessly tumbles from the bar stool into the man’s firm chest punching a startled laugh from him and then a hand pressed against the small of his back leads Jimmy towards a table in the dark corner, guiding him down on the couch-like seating, the stranger sliding in, crowding him against the wall. The musician takes a long, slow drag of his beer, lids closing over green eyes in enjoyment and Jimmy’s eyes are glued to the way the man’s Adam’s apple goes up and down as the cold liquid makes its way down the man’s throat. Not until the movement stops does he raise his gaze once more locking eyes with the stranger, transfixed by the way his green eyes seem to darken as the bottle is slowly taken from his (Jimmy’s eyes drop to look) slightly reddened and wet looking lips.
There’s no telling who moves first, but there’s no denying the heat soaring through him as he opens his mouth to grant access to the stranger’s tongue, the taste of him exploding on Jimmy’s taste buds and it’s all too much or maybe in no way enough as it washes over him, sweeps him away on a wave of things he hasn’t felt for so painfully long; there’s no way to process it beyond the feeling of his skin being too tight to contain him or the way flames lick over his skin where they’re connected. Their lips and the musician’s hands making their way under Jimmy’s shirt, calloused fingers rubbing gentle circles on his skin even as the man leans closer, nips at his lower lip only to pull away with a light smile. The green eyed man’s voice is hoarse and impossibly deeper than before when he says,
