Alright, so... I'm signed up as a writer, my friend isn't. I'm not sure if they're going to sign up, or even collaborate with me, but... I'm still in the process of convincing them. ;) But they're not signed up. So I can't submit a collabed fic with them, am I right? Thank you for making this bang happen! c:
Yes, if you wish to collaborate with someone they do not have to be signed up with us, you can just go off Anon and send a message/ask or an email and let us know who you are and who they are and that you are doing a collaboration. As long as we know it is a collaboration as soon as possible and most definitely before artist claims.
We are excited to see what you write. If you have any other questions please feel free to contact us.
The response has been wonderful so far! Let’s keep up the momentum so that in May we can have an overwhelming number of Dean/Cas/Jimmy fics to fill our summer/winter (depending on geographical location) with!
Ten days left!
Sign ups close on January 5, 2017. So far we have
23 authors
11 artist
21 Betas
Depending on how many artists we have when sign ups close we may leave artist sign ups open.

What if our fic is more than 5k but less than 15k would it still be considered a mini bang or does it need to be exact?
To be fair to all writers and artists, once your fic hits 15k or more it will be considered a Big Bang. Same goes for Big Bangs, if they hit or go over 50k they will be considered a Mega Bang. You will have a chance to upgrade/downgrade with check ins. If your word count changes after artist claims you must be sure to keep in contact with your artist.
Please remember that communication is the foundation of all good relationships, that includes the one with your artist. It is best to have a good idea before artist claims what your story will end up as. We all know though that sometimes things get away from you and when you plan an 8k fic it ends up being 15k+ so it is okay, as long as you communicate with everyone involved.
We hope this answers your question. If not feel free to send another ask.
anon asked: IF I’VE GOT A COMMISSIONED PIECE OF ART FROM SOMEONE CAN I USE IT FOR ONE OF MY DCJBB FICS?
So the admins have talked and decided that since part of Big Bangs is collaborating with others, any art you’re incorporating into your fic should be from artists who have signed up for the bang.
HOWEVER… commissioned art is of course welcomed (even encouraged) for secondary fics i(i.e. if you plan on writing more than one fic).

I WANT TO PARTICIPATE AS AN ARTIST BUT I CAN'T DRAW AND/PR PHOTO MANIP AT ALL!!!!!!! :'( jk I can draw but I'm too scared to.
There is no need to be scared! Honest. We here at DCJ Big Bang are truly lovely people. Or so we’ve been told. We have on occasion been accused of introducing people to this particular ship and getting them hooked but I think that is far from evil. if you want to do it and are scared you don’t have to. It can be a very rewarding experience though. I know as a writer it is always a wonderful experience when I see my work being enjoyed by others. Also, if there is something specific that you are worried about (perhaps ending up drawing something that you are not comfortable drawing, which no one, not even your author, expects you to do) then it can always be worked out so you are more comfortable with it. Trust us, we as authors are happy to have an artist pick our story to help us tell it with some visuals (or audios). So there is no reason to be scared. Again, Anon, it is your choice to sign up or not, I’m just trying to put your mind at ease if you decide you do want to. We would love to have you on board, artists are always a rare commodity during these bangs and we appreciate each and every person that signs up, artist, author, or beta.
If you have any other questions please feel free to contact us further if you wish. Or if you wanted to go off anon and send me (FormidablePassion) a message we could have a chat about it if that would put you at ease too.
Hey will we get a confirmation email at some point after we sign up? I'm always worried something screwed up and it didn't actually go through :p
Absolutely!
January 6-7, 2017 We will be sending out confirmations to everyone that signed up. So keep an eye out for the email. If an email is not received by 11 pm January 7, 2017 EST

how many artists, authors and betas have signed up till now? out of curiosity. this is a great project you've started, by the way!
Anon,
Thank you, we here at the DCJ Big Bang feel that there needs to be more Dean/Cas/Jimmy love out there and figured that we would do our part in trying to make that happen.
As for how sign ups are going right now? At time of posting this we have:
17 Authors
13 Betas
6 Artists
If you are considering signing up, Anon, you have until January 5th to sign up.
We’ve had a great outcome so far considering signs ups have only been open for about 48 hours.
Hi! I'm an artist and I'm interested in participating but I was wondering if you had a schedule? Also when do sign-ups close? I hope you're enjoying your day! :)
Thank you for your interest in the DCJ Big Bang. As most of us know, when it comes to these things, there is usually an abundance of authors and not enough artists. So if you really want to sign up as an artist but are worried about the deadline, talk to us. We might be able to work something out as long as it is still reasonable and fair to everyone else.

I might sign up as an artist if I'm not too busy in the coming months and I wanted to know, what if an artist wants to do more than one fic and all are claimed? Can they then ask to look at the second/third fic of an author? Or will the second/third fics be off limits for claims? It's fine if they are/are not, but I just wanted to confirm. Thank you in advance!
Anon,
This is an excellent question. If there are fics left without artists after initial art claims, artists are welcome to claim another fic.
We do not ever want to pass up an opportunity to provide art for dcj. So in the case that authors and artists wish to create more than one fic and art for more than one fic we will include an option on the sign up form to let us know if you are interested in creating more than one. This way we can determine if there will be enough secondary fics and artists interested in creating art for them to be able to post a secondary art claim.
A note to authors: If a secondary art claim post is made it does not guarantee that you will have an artist for that fic. Artists are only committed to one fic unless they choose otherwise. Please keep this in mind.
Of course you can! We here at DCJ Big Bang encourage every DCJ shipper to create fiction and art for this amazing ship. There is not enough out there!
In order to make sure that every author’s fic gets an artist only one of your stories will be posted for art claims. If you wish to discuss with your artist the possibility of them creating art for additional stories, that is between you and the artist but keep in mind that they are not obligated to.
While it is not allowed to do the art for your main DCJBB story, if you write a second, or third, and wish to create art for them yourselves, you are welcome to do so.
I hope that this answers your questions sufficiently anon. If there are any other questions feel free to ask!
